Install Open TX Companion 2.3
To install Open TX 2.3 go to this link. This will not override your 2.2 Companion.
Configure Profile
Once you have downloaded and installed OpenTX Companion 2.3 click the settings button.

Make sure Radio type is set to X-Lite S/PRO. Under Build options select noheli, lua, crossfire.

Configure Nightly Builds
Click the Application Settings tab and make sure that Use Nightly builds is selected in the drop down menu. Click Ok.

Download Nightly Build
Click the download button.

When the dialog appears click check for updates.

If you are prompted with the following dialog click yes.

Save the file so that you know it is the nightly build. It will be flashed later after we download and flash the FrSky firmware.

SD Contents For Nightly Builds
The SD contents for X-Lite Pro nightly builds can be downloaded from here. X-Lite Pro zip filename is sdcard-taranis-xlite-2.3V0019.zip. Information on how to update SD contents can be found here.
Download FrSky X-Lite Pro Update
FrSky’s firmware download page has a zip file that contains the files needed. Go to the X-Lite Pro website, click Firmware and download file version 190626. Unzip the files.

Flash FrSky Firmware
Set your X-Lite Pro in boot loader mode.

Connect your PC and X-Lite Pro radio via USB. In OpenTX Companion click Write Firmware To Radio button.

Select the FrSky file we just unzipped named firmware_xlites_pro_190626.bin for X-Lite Pro

Click Write to TX.

When flashing is done click Close.
PMU Update
Disconnect the USB cable from your radio and power it off and back on. When it is powered back on reconnect the USB cable and select USB Storage.
In the same zip file that contained the FrSky firmware file, copy autoupdate.frsk into the firmware folder on the SD contents folder on the X-Lite Pro.

Disconnect the USB cable from your radio and power it off and on. On the next start, the PMU will automatically update. When it is finished, the file will automatically remove itself.
Flash Nightly Build
Set your X-Lite Pro in boot loader mode.

Connect your PC and X-Lite Pro radio via USB. In OpenTX Companion click Write Firmware To Radio button.

Select the firmware we downloaded at the beginning that was indicated to be a nightly build.

When flashing is done click closed.
Go into any model and select CRSF as the External RF mode. You will notice that the external module is now powered.
Wow. So, so grateful friend :D. Thanks a ton for compiling the step by step guide. I followed it exactly as you said and I’m about to try binding here after I setup CRSF. I put on nightly v46 instead of 39, as it was the most up to date, but otherwise did just as you said. THANKS!~
still grateful… just something isn’t working..,, bound, wired up correctly, ports and everything set, but for some reason the receiver isn’t receiving commands from the Tx
Is the receiver in bind mode?
Forgive me if this is a dumb question.. but does this mean that the pro version doesn’t need the Crossfire transmitter jr module adapter for x-lite to control a quad with a crossfire rx?
It still needs the jr module adapter.
