The RapidFire Fatshark module is by far one of the best modules to ever come into the hands of FPV pilots. ImmersionRC is constantly updating and improving their software. Stay up to date with the changes by flashing the new firmware to your RapidFire Goggles.
Before you begin you need the Immersion RapidFire software. You can download it free at the bottom of this page under the Firmware/Downloads tab. RapidFire Software Download.
Windows 10 Install Warning
You may be presented with a warning that Windows protected your PC. This is because at the time of this post, the exe isnt digitally signed by microsoft, which we dont mind. Click “More Info” and then click “Run Anyway”.
Flash It Already
Before you plugin the micro usb cable into the module, press down on the black menu button. It is a directional tactical button. You should feel the button press. While the button is pressed, plug the micro usb into your goggle module. This is a boot button like on a Flight Controller.
Once the connection light changes from Red to Green in the RapidFire UI, you can stop pressing the boot button.
Select the firmware version you want to use. You can also choose to show beta releases.
Click flash firmware.
You are done flashing. You should now calibrate RapidFire. Every time you flash firmware, including updating boot / logo image, you should calibrate RapidFire receiver. From time to time the RapidFireUpdater itself needs to be updated. The version shown in the these screenshots is not the most recent of this post. To keep up to date join the facebook rapdifre group.
Troubleshooting USB Connections
Install Drivers
On the main RapidFire user interface there is a link to download drivers. Install those and try again. Or you can download the windows drivers here.
Try another usb cable
Not all usb cables are made equal. I have marked cables in the past to avoid frustration of micro usb cables.
